Project History

The images from the Owens Lake Project have been exhibited three times.

The first exhibit in 2014 was shown at the G2 Gallery in Venice, California. All of G2’s exhibits raised funds for environmental charities, and the proceeds from this exhibit went (fittingly) to Audubon California.

I was thrilled to take the exhibit “home” for its next showing at the Eastern Sierra Interagency Visitors’ Center in Lone Pine, California, in 2015. It was shown as part of the inaugural Owens Lake Bird Festival and raised funds for Friends of the Inyo.

The last exhibit for the OLP was in 2016 at the Eastern California Museum in Independence, California. It was curated alongside historical photos from the lake.

Images of Plover Plaza from the Owens Lake Project were featured in Smithsonian Magazine (digital) in July 2016.

The images and related information from the first phase of the Owens Lake Project are now in the permanent collection of the Eastern California Museum.
